Flash is the most widely used software used by the website designers in order to bring animation to the website design to grab the attention of the visitors of the website. Every website design company tries to incorporate some flash based work onto the website design in order to make it look professional and eye catchy. One can either have flash elements embedded in your website or you can have your entire website done in flash.

This article highlights some reasons for which flash is not encouraged.

# The time taken to download a flash based website is huge. It becomes specifically pain for those who uses dial up connection in order to get connected to the internet.

# It is found that mostly people were using flash intros before the main pages of the website design is shown to the visitors. The concept is good but many visitors dont like to see the intros at all. They directly want to go to those areas of the website design which is more important from their view point. So it is advisable to use 'Skip intro' button so that the visitor can get the option of going to the main pages of the website directly.

# For those website design which depends highly on flash based work lacks content. They tend to skip the contents and show more of animations in order to grab the customer's appreciation. This is not a correct strategy because contents are the most important part of every website design. The visitors must go through the contents properly so that they can know the exact goal of the website design and the purpose of the website. Flash based animation is good initially in order to get the visitor attention but it shouldn't be overused.

# Another vital point is that search engines dislikes flash animations. The search engines have nothing to index for the flash based site. In the HTML file one can simply have a piece of code that calls up the flash file to play. The search engines can’t read this file or what is in it so they have no idea how to index your site and just skip right over it.

# Another major problem is the absence of plugins. The flash animations don't work properly on those systems which don't have appropriate plug ins. The entire flash animation will work erratically in the absence of those plug-ins.

# It is also found that many website uses flash headers on their website design. This is not appropriate because flash headers, though looks good, but at times confusing. Apart from that the search engines can't read those headers and cant index those pages.
