Some web technology softwares
There are many softwares available that facilitates website design. You can choose any of them in order to make your website design a success. This article is to throw some light on some of the softwares that are commonly used for website design.
1) HTML:
This word is very familiar with its abbreviation. The full extension of this word is "Hyper Text Markup Language". This is the most commonly used language for most of the websites. The file name carrying the extension of .html are written in HTML language. This softwares helps creating, what is commonly known, "Static pages". Static pages signifies those pages which contains just some simple graphics along with some texts as its content. There is no database link on these type of pages. In most of the cases these static pages are created manually. This does n`t require very high technical knowledge in order to use them.
2) CSS:
This is also an abbreviation for "Cascading Style Sheets". This is a tool through which the developer control the documents for view on your website. This brings consistency to your website because everytime the styles of all the pages in not changed manually. Because the style sheet is used throughout the site, it only downloads once, so the site will load faster and provide quicker access to its visitors. CSS can also be used to modify the look of forms, text color, and more.CSS was developed for use with HTML in Web pages but is also used in other situations, notably in applications built using XPFE. CSS is typically used to provide a single "library" of styles that are used over and over throughout a large number of related documents, as in a web site. A CSS file might specify that all numbered lists are to appear in italics. By changing that single specification the look of a large number of documents can be easily changed.
3) XHTML:
The Extensible HyperText Markup Language (XHTML™) is a family of current and future document types and modules that reproduce, subset, and extend HTML, reformulated in XML. XHTML Family document types are all XML-based, and ultimately are designed to work in conjunction with XML-based user agents. it is mainly used to design webpages which is understood both by human as well as the computers.
4) DHTML:
Dynamic HTML is a collective term for a combination of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) tags and options, style sheets, and programming that will let you create Web pages more animated and more responsive to user interaction than previous versions of HTML. Dynamic HTML can allow Web documents to look and act like desktop applications or multimedia productions.Dynamic HTML is a combination of HTML 4.0, Style Sheets and JavaScript. It is this combination that makes the webpages dynamic i..e database driven functionality. Dynamic HTML, developed by Netscape and the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), is based entirely on industry-standard HTML and Java. New features in Dynamic HTML, such as absolute positioning and layers, give designers and developers much greater control over the look and feel of Web pages.
