Shape of logo design
The prevailing trend in logo design is incorporating geometrical shapes to give it a "Sleek" look. the common trend is using lines, squares, cubes etc. to make the logo look very unique. Graphic designers manipulates the various geometrical shapes in order to design a appropriate logo for the business owners.
Lines are most commonly used for logo design. Lines provides ample space to manipulate in order to make an exact design out of it. A single line can portray more than one message through it. Slight modifications on the line makes many different and interesting shapes. E.g. if we vary the thickness of a line, then it will give a different look altogether. It gives a different feel whenever the thickness of the line varies. Apart from that lines helps to give a proper outline for a graphics. Graphics that are enclosed within a box with different lines gives good effect to the eyes as well. Lines helps to guide the vision of the viewers as well. Lines normally shows connections. Normally different portion of a particular content is connected using lines. Lines could be of different kinds like dotted, dots, plane etc. Lines also symbolizes feelings and emotions. E.g. sharp edges shows hardness, formality etc.
Different shapes symbolizes different things. Some are mentioned below:
sharp line: Tension, Hardness etc.
Square : It shows something secured. Something balanced, Strength, bond etc.
Triangle : It shows caution, action etc.
Circles : It shows loops, infinite etc.
These are some of the reason behind using different shapes. But the most important factor while logo design is its aesthetic look and the message that it conveys. The logo should be able to convey the message at the first look. Logo is one of the most important sales promoting tool because it helps in brand building of the company.
Apart from these, abstract shapes are also used in logo design so that it can grab the attention of the viewers and make them think over it. Abstract color combinations, abstract patterns are also common in logo design.
