(The other .1% are still hiding away somewhere refusing to believe the sun exists.)

SO HOW DO YOU PREVENT YOURSELF OR A WEB DESIGN COMPANY FROM DEVELOPING CRAP?

A. Develop the web site yourself? *Sigh* Okay folks, I’ll be honest here. There is a small percentage of people that actually can develop a nice web site for themselves. They are a teeny, tiny, itsy, almost-can’t-even-see-them-cause-they-are-so-small percentage. BELIEVE ME.. I’ve seen them. We usually end up FIXING their sites when they’re done with them. With creation of software programs like Microsoft Front Page, Adobe Go Live, Macromedia Dream Weaver.. suddenly EVERYONE is a web designer. Sorry, it doesn’t work like that. Having a marble slab and a chisel in my backyard doesn’t make me a Michaelangelo.

UNLESS you successfully performed brain surgery on yourself and saved money from paying a REAL doctor you may want to consider hiring a professional.

I’ve seen other strategies work as well.. for example, the I’ve got wads of cash to throw around for everything I need so I don’t need to work that hard approach works well sometimes. Although in the big “dot bomb� era it didn’t work too well. So our approach here is stealth and creativity.
