I’ve seen many ideas come across my desk. Ideas for big web sites, small web sites. Low Budgets, high budgets, everything-in-between-budgets. And pretty soon I started to realize something amazing.. I acquired the ability to pick out which web sites were going to make it (be profitable) and which ones were probably going to die or require some serious work.

Now as a web design business owner I could only go so far in telling some that..
1. Their idea sucked.
2. Their product sucked.
3. And/Or their approach sucked.
After that, we’d begin developing the project according to their request.


WHY WOULD I MOVE FORWARD WITH DEVELOPING A SITE THAT MIGHT BE A BAD IDEA?

Two reasons..

1. We are providing a service to help mold an idea into reality, we don’t provide consultation on an idea unless otherwise requested. If every start up business received consultation from their vendors they’d get 20 different opinions.

2. A lot of people let their Ego get involved when they are starting a business. They might be GOOD at what they do, and NOT SO GOOD at starting a business, yet they think being GOOD at what they do is enough to start a successful company. If someone told them their approach was less than intelligent they would be insulted and move on.
