# Web Master:
Responsibilities:
Webmaster is like a project co-ordinator. He co-ordinates between the client and the project Manager of a company in order to determine the content of the website and its layout. Apart from having a good software knowledge, the person chosen as the webmaster must have good writing skills in addition. He must be experienced in this field in order to bring good success to your company.
Minimum Skills desired: SQL or MySQL is minimum.
Software Knowlege: Javascripts, HTML, Adobe Photoshop, Flash animation, VB Scripting etc.
Database applications:
Operating system knowledge: Windows NT/2000 running Internet Information Server, Unix running Apache Web Server and the combination of Linux/Apache etc.
# Graphic designer:
Graphic designer is the one who creates images and other graphics required for your website. A graphic designer is responsible to design the entire website for your company and he gives the entire look and feel to your website. Graphic designer is a great need for every website development company as they are the one who looks after the aesthetic part of your website. A eye catchy, professional website is their brainchild.
Minimum Skills desired: Degree in fine arts and related fields.
Software Knowlege: Adobe photoshop, Illustrator, Macromedia Flash, Macromedia dreamweaver, MS FrontPage, basic HTML coding etc.
# Application Developer:
"Technical Expert" as one can call them. they normally looks after the technologies that will be implemented to develop your website. They are the one who analyse the project first in order to determine the possible solution against the requirement of the client.
Minimum Skills desired: Knowledge on web development softwares and database application softwares.
Software Knowlege: ASP, Java, PERL,CGI, ActiveX, JSP, Databse application knowledge etc.
Other qualities: Problem solving, good analytical skills.
# Project Manager:
A "Leader" as one can term them to be. A project manager doesn't necessarily requires strong technical background in order to lead a typical web development team. They are responsible for the performance of the individual team members who are involved in a particular project. They are the one who needs to constantly in touch with the client in order to know his requirement and can access the scope of work in a particular project. They are not only into team management but also into resource allocation, project planning, reporting etc. as part of their responsibility.
Skills desired: Strong communication skills, project planning skills and organisational skils.
# Systems Administrator:
System administrators are generally responsible for building, maintaining and securing the Web applications and database servers in the internet architecture. They are the one who ensures the proper working of your website. After your website is uploaded on the web, the next very important things are security, stability, reliability etc. . A good system administrator ensures that you get the website "up and running" all the time.
Minimum Skills desired: Knowledge oabout network, firewalls, Apache Web server.
