Creating graphics is an effective way to communicate your message to your customers/ potential customers. This creates a long lasting impression in the mind of the customers/potential customers. This is an effective way to promote your products or services. This makes your promotion lively as well. There are many aspects that are associated with creating a good graphic design. the graphics size, color, font style, layout, direction etc.. But the bottom line is to create something that fulfills its purpose in the best way. Some simple issues must be kept in mind in order to design and develop a winning graphics for your website.
1) Make the graphics smaller in size so that it doesn't take huge amount of time in order to get downloaded. Downloading time becomes the key when it comes to viewing a particular graphics. People prefers not viewing a particular graphics that requires huge amount of time in order to get download. It is always advisable to keep your graphics size between 10K-12K so that it gets easily downloaded irrespective of the connection speed that the visitor is using.
2) Color scheme is an important factor for your website graphics. Try using common colors in order to avoid the browser complicacy. Otherwise some browser specification can damage the entire look of the particular graphics. they might even spill the colors used in the particular graphics thereby damaging the entire design.
3) The color scheme for the graphics needs to be uniform. Don't overuse colors otherwise it can damage the overall look of a specific graphic.
4) If you are using graphics for navigational menus, then make it sure that it is consistent throughout the entire website otherwise the visitors might mistakenly believe that they are directed to a different website mistakenly.
5) For graphics use jpeg or gif formats because they are most widely used internet based graphics designing format.
6) For handling large graphics it is advisable to use more of thumbnails. Thumnails are easily downloaded and if the visitor is particularly interested in any thumbnail graphics, then he/she has the option of enlarging that in order to view the actual picture.

Graphics are inevitable in any website design but they needs to smartly handled. The informations that you would like to propagate through your website should be well synchronized with the graphics that you are using for your website design. The graphics should be in proper blend with the other contents of your website.
