Fast Loading Home Pages
If your front page gets slow downloading, it is problem for you whilst you run a business or important issues. Slow loading of your home page into a browser will matter on your website and cause to jam the traffic inflow which means your potential viewers who thought off to be landed on your website may be redirected onto your rival websites.
Almost every Web design company keeps in their mind that people are still having modems of less than 56k speed and not everyone is connected with ISDN, T1 or cable modem connection to their pc. Therefore faster downloading is the one of the main objective, which is kept in the mind of a general web designer without having anything, missed out.
While web application development is being done, a web designer should always try to put the multimedia application as less as possible except images or if it is necessary, better to place it in the later pages. Especially, .wav files or video application to be minimized in a home page of your website. Why is this? Because if home page takes more than 15 secs of time to be downloaded, the visitor may opt for clicking "back" or "stop" icons.
Images should also be as small as possible because the larger the images the larger the problems arise. Images that are 550 X 650 pixels may be reluctant to load. Hence, to avoid the problem get it reduced through editing options and also by compressing the images from special services of using web. It will let you compress the images as long as it fits with your visibility clear.
Having compressed the images once put those on the home page by repeating them in the later pages too. Which is why the images will remain in the browser cache and as and when the images are recalled in the later pages it will run instantly. It will save you loading you same images again and again.
Yet another, a great way to save time of loading is define the width and height of the image tags so that the browsers get to know the amount of space the image will require in the page and need not adjust every time whilst the images get loaded. And last but not the least, give a link in the home page of your later pages to enable it to be easily navigated by you visitors.
