There can be many reasons for that, like moving to better service provider, the website information increased as a result faster web server is required etc.. This becomes typically more important for those website design which promotes e-commerce business through the website design. All the visitors, irrespective of whether existing/potential, must know the alternate contact details.
3. The move from one server to another needs to be made on the least traffic time. This will make the process faster. Apart from that, if the website is a big one, then the visitors must know about the change. Usually a small note helps in initiating this information to the visitors. If the website design is a huge one, then the transfer date should be split but the most important pages should get the highest preference.
4. Once the website design is properly transferred to the new domain, then the DNS needs to be changed. Changing DNS takes good amount of time and so it is done at the last. If there is any URL change, then the visitors must also know about the change of URL. Host changing also gives appropriate opportunity to modify all the error pages of the website design.
5. After transferring the complete website design, it is necessary to go back to the old server and check them. Proper time must be given to check the previous host for any information left out.
